Gifr
Often mistaken for trolls as they share their size and "terrifying" appearance.
unlike trolls these creatures does not only have more human features but they are also kind and humble beings by nature, rarely known to harm other creatures, the exception being hunting for food or self defense.
defined by their big noses, short necks and long messy hair these kind creatures keep to the woods of Sweia, traveling or living in families, some big, others small.
the gifrs vary in size as they can be no bigger than an average man or tall as the treetops, creating gifr paths, as the sweians call it.
on many occasions these kind creatures are known to be good friends with tunglbarn (see: Beings of the north forest by Nulfgang Trokke) and are often found telling one and other stories or simply resting. there is a tale of one gifr named Rutger who became so old and grew so big that wen he sat down once to sleep he was mistaken for a mountain, so people built huts on him, and not wanting to ruin the lives of the people who now lived on him he decided to sit completely still. some say he sits there still, the mountain has since been named after him.
